Sergio Ernesto Barrera

My Name is Sergio Ernesto Barrera. I am a PhD candidate in economics at the University of Minnesota and I will be on the job market for the 2021-2022 academic year.

I served five years in the US Marine Corps as a Cryptologic Linguist from 2008-2013 and I currently work as a research analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Opportunity and Inclusive Growth Institute. I focus my research on examining the reasons for economic inequality, with an interest in investigating the barriers that lead to inequalities in outcomes by socioeconomic status, race and ethnicity in the US economy.
